Burns & Wilcox Brokerage Expands Midwest Presence

Wholesale specialty brokerage firm opens St. Louis office

ST. LOUIS (May 11, 2015) — Continuing its rapid expansion throughout the country, Burns & Wilcox Brokerage today announced the opening of its St. Louis office. The new location is the second office the company has opened this year and is its seventh nationwide.

“We see a great number of growth opportunities for our business in the Midwest, and opening an office in St. Louis allows us to take advantage of them,” said Denis Brady, President, Burns & Wilcox Brokerage. “We will continue adding talent and expertise to our nationwide team, which remains focused on bringing innovative solutions to our clients and providing an unparalleled level of service.”

Industry veteran Denise Dockendorf, Managing Director, will oversee operations at the St. Louis office, in addition to providing expert casualty brokerage services. She will report to Brady and guide the development of the broader St. Louis team. Dockendorf brings more than 20 years of experience to the new position, most recently as Senior Vice President at Worldwide Facilities. Prior to joining Worldwide, Dockendorf founded and led an independent brokerage business, which merged with Worldwide after 15 years in business. Her extensive background in brokerage and strong industry relationships further enhance Burns & Wilcox Brokerage’s competitive edge. Erica Dickerson has also joined the Burns & Wilcox Brokerage team in St. Louis as a property broker. Dickerson brings more than seven years of experience to the role, most recently as a property broker at Risk Placement Services, Inc.

“The significant weather exposures in the Midwest provide a need for expert risk assessment, coverage and placement,” said Dockendorf. “Economic challenges have also required the Midwest to evolve. While manufacturing and transportation continue to be important, other industries are also growing, including bioscience, technology and healthcare. With the team’s knowledge, skills and market relationships, we will help our broker clients achieve the best results for their customers, and I’m excited for the opportunity to directly support the company’s growth.”

Burns & Wilcox Brokerage has locations in New York City; San Francisco; North Dallas; Atlanta; Tampa, Florida; Scottsdale, Arizona; and St. Louis.
